I remember the flax mill near Westport. Used to see it every time I went to Westport for the dentist, right by the railway line.

Roger O'Regan Hard yakka. The idea was each bundle was a cwt. (Thats 112 lbs) 20 to the ton and I think the pay was about 4 pounds a ton. I did a bit at one stage but you wouldn't want to make a career out of it. I was about 18,so fairly fit.
