Remember my Mum telling me that she went over in a stage coach & the men had to get out and walk. Also the horses kept trying to get as close to the bank as they could because of the big drop on the otherside. Poor buggers we don't know how lucky we are.

The last days of the horse era,I wonder what they would think now on that road,maybe some ghost stage coaches still travel it!

Great shot…it shows how many riverbed stones had to be moved aside to make a roadway.
