Jock Fisher they are wearin g the slouch hat as worn by nz rough riders in ww1 .the green plume is a tribute to the former 2CantNMWC Officers and SNCO who wore it with a green caubean(bonnet) on cermonial occasions .2cants of course was absorbed inot 2/4 btn battle group who encase all TF e;lements in the south island .Yes the officer is major Brendan Wood ex 3field ambulance and very prominent member of St Johns and latterly a regular force officer who did sterling service in the CJHCH earthquakesthe other officer is possibly the actual 2.4commander ?collar dogs would indicate he was originally a member of 2Cants .what is interesting regarding the affiliation imentions was pre 1964 the nelson marlborough west coast battalion of the NZ infantry regiment had an affiliation to the inskilling rangers and wore their navy blue caubean &hackle as a sign of this . the plain green corp belt formerly worn by soldiers of 2Cants was from our affiliation to the Durham light infantry of the brit armed forces .
