I had my first drink in a pub there when I was fifteen. I think a Clarry king had it. I fronted to the bar and said in my best deep voice “ A tall eight please” the barmaid looked at me and asked Clarry “ is he old enough?” Clarry looked up and said. “ Yeah, he’s shavin “ and I got my beer. lol . We would drink there and Mag Steels golden eagle after hours.if the cops rang once on the bell whichever one we were in we would bolt out the back and tell the other. My sister Kaye cooked there before that and on Friday nights in town I would go and do dishes for her. Good old pub.
