The roof of her family home had been severely damaged when a spray of mysterious rocks from out of the blue pelted into a paddock and hillside next to the house.It was a miracle that none of the family were killed instantly by a direct hit.An unnerving roaring sound was heard as sheets of corrugated iron popped off their lead headed nails fastenings.It was quite bizarre and uncanny.300m of aerial wire connected to a 15m high pole mounted on the hill seemed to vanish into thin air.The blast riddled the bank with holes like a Swiss cheese.The hillside "looked as though it had been ploughed or rooted up by wild pigs,it was so rough."
The guy wires were torn out of their anchors and the timber near the electrical insulator into the house had been considerably scorched and blackened.Sheets of iron on the back of the house were burred,all in one direction,wooden poles and posts were left in splintered ruins.
Ruby poked long sticks into some of the holes in the hillside but couldn't reach the bottom.She told me they could stand waist deep in many of the holes."I am sure the rocks are still in the ground because as far as I know no one has been poking around there and certainly no one dug any up while my family lived there"
2025 I attempted to wave a metal detector over the paddock,when I visited them but was thwarted by knee high grass.Found a few meteorwrongs See lessMap^[1]ContributorJohn Lester
