2010.
The 1904 signal box which controlled the extensive rail system through Greymouth and the export wharfs on Mawhera Quay was relocated during 2010 so that the 1990 Greymouth floodwall can be raised 750mm. The cost was 2.6 million dollars and the concrete wall is designed to repel a 1- 150 year flood.
