You were able to push spoil straight over the edge back then. Now you have to load trucks and cart miles away.

Dave Neame. Dad did a bit of this as Ferguson’s machines were already in Reefton working on Rahu….Remember him taking us up there..a lot of damage. I was 8 yrs old.

Wow that is impressive,,the dozer is a speck in some big slips,,got to admire the men operating in the Gorge with the aftershock and weather, no cabs then

the good old days forget the bureaucrat's just get half a dozen bulldozer's in there and sort the problem out in a few weeks instead of months or even years!
