Trish Rennie yeah I remember him, a short little Scottish bloke. He sacked me one day because I turned up sober ? he thought I was drunk????

Great place started when flectures owned it then 3 years with aorangi , worked under Percy an John Hibbs ,Peter Lucas, Jennifer McBride

Remember working there back in the 70's. Spent a bit of time on the press with Willie and on the finishing gang. Alot of fond memories especially when i worked on the maintenance crew.
The was a great cafeteria there.

I remember when my dad started out there .he was a coal miner at Dobson and the mine closed .at Dobson he was picked up outside our house at 7 am uat Kaiata and dropped off in the arvo around 2 . 15 after a day working on the coal.He started at fletchers and was there till he retired at 60 but his day started with a Honda 50 bike ride from Kaiata to Gladstone then what seemed like a long 9 + hour day then a ride home on the trusty Honda . Such a long day and l never heard him have a whing or moan once. It appeared like he spent most of his time there….he was so pleased to have a job to go to l think. Fletchers was good to him
