Event--One of the Pounamu boulders purchased by Mayor Tony Kokshoorn in 2010 to celebrate 150 years of Westland. The mayor Pictured with the pounamu in the upper reaches of the Arahura river paid 1000 dollars for the boulder and several other pounamu for transport to various locations in Greymouth.

During 2014 jade carver Mike Collins inscribed 29 ferns into the pounamu as a memorial to the 29 men killed in the Pike river coal mining disaster.ContributorTony Kokshoorn
