AddBy: Sheryl O'Leary9th Feb 2020 9:19PMMy great great grandmother,Catherine Betts nee Hurley passed away in April 1871 while living in Try Again Terrace. She died in child birth with her 4th baby. Her husband Henry Fitzpatrick Betts arranged for her to be transported to Greymouth by canoe to be buried in the Karoro Cemetery. He was left with three little boys under 5 years old to bring up on his own. Times would have been tough back then. He eventually ended up living in Blacks Point and Reefton.
