I am sure that we knew that as the Snowflake Icecream factory. Owen was friends with my parents and we stayed in touch for many years after they moved to Nelson. I have the best memories of going there to visit on Sundays and being given ice creams. For me, it is still the best icecream in the world, and I have travelled extensively and never have I been able to find anything that compared to Snowflake. I visited Owen a few years ago and he told me that he had given the recipe (which was a closely guarded secret) to someone who would produce the icecream. Sadly, to this day, I have not found out who they are.

Raelene Beth Wendi Wilson my goodness, I did not know he was still with us. It has been about seven or eight years ago when I stopped in to visit him. He and my parents were great friends and he always stayed in touch with them and always visited when he came up to Nelson. I would love to see him again. The stories he could tell.

Trish Rennie Hi Trish. Yes I remember fetching stuff from there. I also dropped in to see Owen recently. Not sure of the back story. Did Snowflake evolve from Sunshine or did Snowflake buy Sunshine?
