"I´ve done a little research on this ship. It was Norwegian flagged, built in Fevik, Fjäre, Grimstad,(Tough town) Norway in 1868. If the date on this photograph is true, then it is possible it was the Barque "Irene´s" last trip. As the history books showed she was "Avrigget" (Norwegian word for demasted) in 1908 in Norway. Meaning taken out of service and scrapped. An extremely historic photograph, offer a copy to the Norwegian Historical Ship Museum as they have little or no photographs of her...Cheers from Sweden."Date of Photo1908Map^[1]ContributorHeather Newby
