Seated: Charles Quinn (my Dad), his sister Alma McGhie nee Quinn, her daughter Shona, (?) married to Graham Quinn, Caroline Quinn nee Barr (my Mum), Helen Quinn nee Clarke (groom's mother) and Harry "Junior" Quinn (groom's brother).
It was Alma, my mother's Canadian Nursing colleague - who invited Caroline to her home in Blackball where she was introduced to Charlie.

Ritchie Mathieson Keith had another west coast connection as well, i'm not sure if it was his father or grandfather built the house my uncle lives in at Dobson when he immigrated from Canada

Angie Quinn Yes, it was our grandfather, who was the mine manager in Blackball. And another link is Helen (Keith's mother, in the photo above) was a Clark before she married, from the family who founded the NZ Labour Party in Blackball.

Darcy Downey My mother Kath Connors from Blackball was a great friend of Alma Quinn

Maurice Alan Quinn The "Graham Quinn" depicted - is a brother of Greg Quinn, who lives on Marine Parade, Carter's Beach, Westport; we dropped-in on Greg and his family when we visited the Westport/Denniston/Seddonville area at Christmas 1997; the campground we were caravanning in was just down the road. I believe them to have been grandsons of John Graham Quinn's elder brother Charles who died-in-action France 1917.
