DescriptionDOC ladder to Pt Elizabeth Track ..can see top ladder top right and beach approach at bottom.Climbed up thru bush and track across ,just below the cliff face at top. How spoilt all us beach walkers , runners were and then all gone.

Raewyne Whitcombe Walker I was one of the PEP scheme people that helped make this track.. Pushing up wheelbarrows full of gravel to lay the track, using a grubber to make the walk way. Etc.. Bloody hell we worked hard back then.. loved the physical work. Still do..

Bill Johnsen great to see photo of slip etc ..Point Elizabeth track still there of course and one of best short walkways around this area ..beautiful.bush and sea views...easy access from rapahoe car park and Cobden same..do it !

Also in this photo is J Wright - I have a photo of him in his 1926 NZRL jersey & there's a photo of both Neil Mouat & him in a NZRL 1926 touring group photo in the National Library. I believe both these players & 5 others were suspended after the tour to GB that year. Apparently infighting & dust ups occurred on the tour & the 7 so-called 'rebels' were sent home a week early. J Wright was a relation of my grandmother (nee Wright).
