DescriptionLooking up Kumara`s main Street.The old two storey Post Office and Sandy`s Hill... are in the distance.It was over Sandy`s Hill and down this road, that Richard John Seddon hurried with pack horses, laden with stores to found Kumara in 1876.Jean Spindelier`s notorious Crown Hotel used to stand on the right hand corner.
