DescriptionThe steamer Taviuni one of the Union Steam Ship Company's fleet ran ashore near the mouth of the Buller River, a year and six months ago, while endeavouring to enter the port at night. The stranded vessel has had to be hauled a considerable distance along the beach to the breakwater, through which she was successfully launched on Thursday Nov 25th, 1909.
As reported in the Auckland Weekly News.
