DescriptionThe Maadi Cup was presented for competition between teams from Buller, Marlborough, Nelson and West Coast by the late Leo P Coffey. Mr Coffey a hockey stalwart and sportsman gave the trophy as a memorial to those hockey players who made the supreme sacrifice in the Second World War.
The first tournament in 1952 was held in Greymouth with succeeding tournaments held in each district by rotation, no matter who holds the trophy.Map^[1]ContributorGraham Bone
