Merv Burrell.. I think at one stage Apex were towards the Guiness St end of Albert Street around where Frank Wagenar had his deli shop & great pies Laurie.
Malcolm Howell.. In the early 60's - Apex had a depot on the corner Waite Street & Mawhera Quay, opp Newmans and just down the road from the paperboys/printing entrance of the Greymouth Evening Star. Gorgeous icecream. It was on the style of french vanila which was so different to our local Snowflake. I also got my first "Joy Bar" from that Apex depot.Ray Douglas.. My old workplace. Hasn't changed a lot. RIP Radio Scenicland.
Don Hutton... So, fish 'n chips at one end (Norcassa) and ice cream at the other end of the street for paper boys Malcolm Howell? Yum!
Clare McDonnell.. Anyone remember old Warwick and the horse and cart delivering fruit and vegetables around the streets. He used to give us rides from time to time...(We lived in Nelson st) Dad had a pretty good garden as most people did in those days but I remember Mum taking off her apron and going out to buy something off him occasionally....wonder where he got his produce from???
Don Hutton... Warwick Rothwell was a big man with a ruddy face. I recounted Fred Goodall's memory of him on an earlier post. His shop was next to the Goodall's side path at 86 High St.
John Brett His shop was next to our drive (The Brett's) at 82 High Street, and was run by Merle. It was on the land of the Patterson's house.
Don Hutton.. The Goodalls lived in an old "lean-to" weatherboard cottage with verandahs at front and back. It had an outhouse (toilet, bathroom, washhouse etc) and a disused fowl run at the back. The path on the north side was bounded at the front by the south wall of the little shop, owned by Warwick (I think) and run by Merle. This was in the 1940s and early 50s.

Jill Smith.. Wick's Drapery on the corner. I remember going in there as a child with my mother every time we went to town.
