Pauline Naylor Brilliant photo
Arthur Bass It would have been a hard life up there.
Diane Burling The children still not keen to have their photo taken then either

Sonya Stewart So cute and yes a bit grumpy and unsure ....
Kelly Williams Resting bitch face lol

Karen Oleary What Kelly
Kelly Williams Its a term used for grumpy woman or those that have had to much botox...no disrespect intended ...my old family photos look like the would eat you lol
Yvonne Hart Love the clothes
Karen Oleary Yes Nana the blonde girl up the back looks very grumpy
Margaret Tappin Boots are on trend!
Irene Tiller Awesome Lots and lots of memories.
Del Godfrey What a beautiful photo, and what well looked after girls! Those outfits are many hours in the making and boots were not cheap!!! What a marvellous mother! (And father!)
June David Campbell Grandma was Mary Jane and I think that photo was taken in the old country before they joined Grandad out here. If my memory
June David Campbell What's with the SOUR comments guys. Different times, nobody smiled for a photo shoot back then. Look back at old wedding photos. She was Mary-Jane not Mary Rose and she was my grandmother.
Stacey Chapman June David Campbell. Cool to see a picture of some relatives from so long ago. Did you know your aunties very well?
June David Campbell Yes I did Stacey. That photo was taken before the "girls" came out to NZ. Grandad was here quite a while before they came and Dad was born in NZ
Elaine Bolitho It was hard work having your photo taken back then, as you had to stay still so long - no wonder the children look as if they can't wait for it to be over!
Irene Tiller Love this, lt would have been hard in those days leaving all your family behind l guess
Anna Panther Yep I knew there was a Flora & a Marion (McTigue) but Colin must have been born later - maybe!! Or am I barking up the wrong tree hehe
Gilda Harpur Anna Panther there was another younger brother who died very young, i think he was hit by a car but not 100% sure, when his funeral went throught Runanga the whole school came out and stood on the curb to pay their respects
June David Campbell Gilda Harpur he was Jack. I believe it was pneumonia
Karen Oleary no you not barking up the wrong tree, theres was hilda, marion, hannah flora and colin
Irene Tiller Colin Campbell was born in Greymouth later
June David Campbell Irene Tiller 1913 Irene, so much younger than the girls. He was more of an age with his nieces and nephews
Greg Spark Heather Newby can I copy this please? Hannah was my Grandma -- serves me right
Karen Oleary Yes I can remember going to aunt marions with Nana and see grandma in bed
Anna Panther June - So the Marion is?? Was she Mrs McTigue??
June David Campbell Yes that's right. Aunty Marion
Anna Panther Oh what a tangled Web eh and then we had a Marion Campbell and related too lol good grief those bloody Campbell's lol
Karen Oleary So Anna are you related too the Campbell's to
Anna Panther Yep Karen Oleary sure am!! I've got Campbell's on both sides but the Campbell's on your side were from my Nana Hambley - her Mum (my Granny) was a Campbell & an Aunty ( I think) to your Nana etc hence how June is related to me! So the family tree is very webbed lol - lordy bee it's very complicated - next time you're over we'll take a look
Karen Oleary my great aunties and nana little blondy
Del Godfrey What gorgeous obviously handmade dresses and lace, matching to boot! The time it must have taken this woman to do the girls hair alone is testament to their hard working lives!
Bronwyn Finlayson Would of been a very hard life. Lovely photo
John Kerr The one on the left and the one in the back have had particularly bad days, or didn't want to get dressed up for the photo.
Heather Newby I reckon they were all told off before the photo was taken
Sharon Murphy Even mama looks grumpy .. in all fairness they had to hold a pose for some time for photo to be taken guess everyone had enough by the time photographer got the shot
Donald Nicholas Those old cameras took a long time to work.
Sonia Dando Can we image the young girls today dressed like this at least they are covered up
Skimpier the clothes are today the better kids like it
Lorraine Lee These were my Dad’s cousins. What a wonderful photo.

Mary Moffitt Very natural look. How many early photographers made us look directly into the sun, I wonder. I love this photo, so thank you for posting it.
Bruce Carey I love the boots. So strong and practical. Not like
Bruce Carey Not like the footwear kids wear these days
John Rosanowski Bruce, Even ladies wore boots in those times. It was because practically everybody walked places, often quite long distances to us.
Bruce Carey I think the photographic exposure times were quite long and people were asked to stay still so lots of photographs from this era had people looking pretty stern
