Max Vicki Messenger The other face, Arthur Collins lived immediately beside the Marist high school rooms in Alexander St ( classes moved across the street in 1953).Collins's had a goat tethered directly under the window of 3rd form room and unfortunately for that goat it was too good a target. Quite a number of bottles of coloured ink were emptied onto the goat. I think it was Paul O'Brien our most accurate bomber. A highly colourd animal. Arthur went into the printing trade and quite a few years later he showed up in Petone as manager of a Printers Ink manufacturing firm named Croda International. ( Arthur still remembered the goat at that time) In the early 80's Arthur and family moved to Brisbane to further his career.

Jimmy Purton today and Russell Harrington just a few years back.

Bill Garth I understand youre going to say a few words at Rocky's send off. Could you mention how boxing spectators would throw coins into the ring after Jimmy's fights. In panic both boxers would be trying to pick up the coins with their boxing gloves still on. Cheers Bill

Of course I cant forget that. Jimmy was a legend in the Alexander Puketahi street area. Jim worked for me when I had hotels in Christchurch and was his best man when he got married. Cheers
