DescriptionNZR ran a pretty hefty advertising campaign in the 70s, this was from a 1974 Chch Commonwealth games leaflet.
"See the Miners`s Bath house, Lamphouse,extractor fans,conveyor belts, coalbins and mining implements.
The train to historic Rewanui leaves the Riverside Station at Greymouth,1.50pm Mon to Fri.It leaves Rewanui at 2.55pm , arriving in Greymouth at 3.36pm.A special Xmas holiday service leaves Greymouth at 9am and returns at 11.15am.Adult fares are only 68 cents return.Children are half price.Date of Photo1974Map^[1]ContributorCory Aitken

Lance Harper Who is the miner in the photo?

Brian Steele I remember years ago while I was a teenager taking the train ride up the Rewanui Incline. Now days I cant remember much about it as the terrain and surroundings was unknown to me at the time. I ve walked up the incline since and will do it again next summer. I think the area is packed with history an relics.,should be o everyone's bucket list of things to do. Pity there is no one up there to show people how things were.
However I'm glad to say I actually went up there on a train once.
