DescriptionGlenn Johnston.."Yesterday I walked up to the top of Ikes Peak above Rewanui after biking from Dunollie. On the return trip I met Moe Bowes who had been hunting for old coal mine entrances on Seven Mile Creek. He pointed out a few mine entrances to me and showed me the site of the old Dunollie brick works. On the hill above Rewanui I encountered quite a few old mining adits (many collapsed), track and tramways, bits of iron work, wire ropes, pipes, shafts, trenching and evidence of historic timber getting."

The pack in one photo gives scale of a tramway with some rails still in situ I came across when climbing the hill. Another tramway encountered was of wider gauge.

Who's that old bugger gasping for bit of air mate lol, just been out in the garden planting, a lovely morning here looks like it's going to be that way for ten days it's cooled down a bit thank Christ it was uncomfortable Cheers mate take care in that bush.

Lyn N Moe Moe I had a look at a plan of the Liverpool Colliery in Les Wright's book and it looks like the adits etc. I came across were part of the Liverpool 3A Section on the True Left of Garvey's Creek. It was good to meet you the other day.
