DescriptionMore from the Rewanui area. I spotted this rope road tunnel above me when heading to Orange Hut so took a couple of photos. This is above/upstream of the upper Rewanui settlement site and before where the rope road reached the No 2 Section adits that are on the TR of Parawai Creek.
I've posted photos of Orange Hut before which was once used by geologists, surveyors and drillers quantifying coal resources. The coal stove is no more and now lies outside the now semi derelict hut.

Photo 1:Orange Hut (Cracker Hut) Still there but it has deteriorated considerably in recent years.
Photo 2:The annex that contained the coal range stove has gone from Orange Hut with the stove tipped outside and the hole in the hut wall blocked up.
Photo 3:Old boots. Back down the service tram at a No 3A section adit. This is in the head of Garvey Creek and closer to lower Rewanui than Orange Hut.
Photo 4:This turned out to be an old rope road tunnel.
